Course Description

The American Leaders & Innovators: Colonial Times to Reconstruction course provides biographical sketches that help students identify American leaders and innovators of the past as real people. The biographies deal briefly and concisely with people who helped make the republic great. Each of the 19 units contain a reading selection, a key details page, and an activity page, featuring graphic organizers, map analysis, writing activities, research opportunities, and more. Profiles include Benjamin Franklin, Tecumseh, Harriet Beecher Stowe, and Blanche Kelso Bruce. This course is correlated to current national and state standards.
